Mark Shapiro is a Internal Medicine/Hospitalist physician in San Diego, California, and creator of the Explore The Space podcast. In Dr. Shapiro’s description of why he started the podcast and the origins of the podcast’s title he states:
“There is a gulf between healthcare and our communities, this is the place to talk about it. We are digging into healthcare issues that matter most, our conversations mine these issues for perspective and answers.”
He has interviewed many previous Medical Artists of the Week, including Zubin Damania (a.k.a ZDOGGMD), Bob Wachter, Paddy Barrett, and many more influential healthcare professionals. Dr. Shapiro’s dedication and creativity to starting and continuing healthcare dialogues has earned him this week’s “Medical Artist of the Week”.
